Before trusting a build comparison
- Numbers taken from the character sheet AFTER all modifiers
- Crit damage read correctly - multiplier or bonus? They differ
- Attack speed is the final figure, not the base weapon speed
- Only ONE stat changed between rows
- Both builds compared against the same target health
- Remember a crit REPLACES a normal hit, it is not added on top
- Sanity-check against a real target if the game has a training dummy
This is a ceiling, and that is fine
No real fight has you attacking every second with nothing reducing your damage. The absolute number will always be optimistic. That does not make it useless - it makes it a COMPARISON tool, because the same optimism applies to both builds you are weighing up and largely cancels out.
A crit replaces a hit
The most common error in build maths is treating a 2x crit as doubling your damage on that swing ON TOP of the normal hit. It does not - it replaces it. That is why 25% crit chance at 2x damage is a 25% increase and not a 50% one, and why crit is consistently overrated by people doing it in their heads.
