Comparing two farms honestly
- Run time measured over a few FULL cycles, not the fight alone
- Travel, repairs, restocking and the walk back included
- Values consistent between the two farms being compared
- Items you need valued differently from items you will sell
- Concentration checked - it decides whether short sessions work
- Loot table checked: independent rolls or one weighted pick?
- Pity or bad-luck protection noted - it breaks the runs-to-see figure
- Hourly rate weighed against whether it is worth your evening
The average is not your evening
When a third of the value hides in a drop appearing once in 200 runs, most sessions come in below average and a rare one comes in far above. The mean is real over a long grind and describes almost nobody's night. Read the concentration before deciding whether the headline rate applies to how you actually play.
Compare farms, do not trust one number
Item values are subjective and market prices move, so any single farm's absolute figure carries your valuation errors. Comparing two farms with the same assumptions cancels most of that out - which is why this sheet has room for two and why the comparison is worth more than the number.
