- Layout planned so cuts fall somewhere discreet
- Centre line marked, rather than starting from a wall and hoping
- Adhesive and grout bought to match the tile and the room
- Spacers, notched trowel and a working cutter to hand
Buy the spares with the job
The most common regret in tiling is not keeping a box back. Dye lots shift between production runs, so a replacement bought two years later rarely matches, and one obviously different tile draws the eye more than the crack it replaced.
