Fill it in from your bursar's statement, not the published tuition rate — the gap between them is the point.

The arithmetic, and what does not scale
- Term total
- per-credit × credits + flat fees
- Effective per credit
- term total ÷ credits
- Fee loading
- flat fees ÷ credits
- $1,250 over 15 credits
- $83 per credit
- $1,250 over 9 credits
- $139 per credit
- ⚠ Flat fees
- per TERM — they do not shrink
- ⚠ Full-time threshold
- usually 12 credits
- ⚠ Flat-rate band
- often 12-18 — different maths
Before dropping a course to save money
- Tuition refund window and deadline checked
- Which fees are refundable checked separately
- Financial aid office consulted if this crosses 12 credits
- Scholarship continuous-enrolment conditions checked
- Whether tuition is banded (e.g. 12-18) confirmed
- Effect on graduation date considered
- Health insurance eligibility checked if tied to enrolment
- Housing eligibility checked if tied to enrolment
The threshold costs more than the credits
Dropping from 12 to 9 credits is three credits of tuition and, very often, an entire financial-aid package. Full-time status, scholarships, health insurance and housing are all commonly tied to 12. Ask before you drop.
