Sensitivity Settings Card
Write your settings down. The single biggest improvement available to most players is not changing them.

The arithmetic
- eDPI
- DPI x in-game sensitivity
- Changing DPI
- multiply DPI, divide sens by the same factor
- 800 DPI x 1.0
- = 400 x 2.0 = 1600 x 0.5 = 800 eDPI
- To match someone's eDPI
- their eDPI / your DPI = your sens
- ⚠ eDPI compares
- WITHIN one game only
- ⚠ Across games
- needs each game's scaling factor
- ⚠ Windows pointer speed
- 6 of 11 — the middle notch
- ⚠ Enhance pointer precision
- OFF — it is acceleration
- Typical DPI range
- 800-1600
Anything you try — and whether you kept it
| Date | DPI | Sens | eDPI | Why changed | Kept? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Before blaming your sensitivity
- Windows pointer speed on the middle notch (6/11)
- Enhance pointer precision OFF
- Any mouse-software acceleration or angle snapping OFF
- DPI actually set to what you think it is, in the mouse software
- Settings written down so a driver reset does not lose them
- Same mousepad and surface you normally use
- Enough desk space for the arm movement your eDPI implies
- Given the current setting weeks, not hours, before changing it
Neither number means anything alone
400 DPI at 2.0 and 1600 DPI at 0.5 are the SAME aim. Someone telling you they play on 0.5 has told you nothing. eDPI is the only figure that survives being quoted to a person with different hardware, which is exactly why pro settings lists use it.
The best setting is the one you stop changing
Aim is muscle memory and muscle memory is built by repetition. Copying a pro's eDPI is a fine place to start and a poor place to keep re-starting from. This card exists mainly so that a driver reset, a new mouse or a reinstall cannot quietly cost you the thing you have been building.
